With 450 exhibitors and over 72,000 visitors, “Salon du 2 roues Lyon” is one of the largest events of the motorcycle and bicycle scene in France.
It took place from February 13th to 16th in the Parc Eurexpo de Lyon and offered something for every visitor on 100,000 m²- everything from stunt and mountain bikes to eBikes was represented.
We were happy to be part of the 27th edition of the event in this post we want to tell you more about our experiences and highlights.
We really liked the whole event, as the animations were really nice and service was great as well. We had a really good support from the Electric Bike’s area and the Testride area, whom we knew already from last year when we were supporting our dealer MC Leman Bike. Actually many people didn’t know about us and most were pretty amazed when they discovered our work, what makes us optimistic for the upcoming season!
Even though we had some surprises when we arrived (no metallic structure as expected) we believe, that for our first booth in France, we did a good job. The people didn’t really know us before and a lot of them were positively surprised with our products. They were not used to see Bikes like ours and we gained a lot of new French fans who love our bikes!
We were pretty amazed that a lot of young people and kids wanted to try our bikes . They looked so happy after their ride that Brieuc almost wanted to give them a bike (he laughs). Even with the youngest we did a ride and seeing their smile at the end of the ride was priceless. We also were really happy to meet with Julien Dupont, former Trial biker for Red Bull teams and worldwide famous for his skills. He really appreciated our bikes and offered his held for visibility. This is something that shows us that we did a good job these past years.
Lyon is a really a nice city and famous for its traditional food. In the evening we could go around a bit to discover the city and its center that is really cool, with a lot of small restaurant and young people going around. We had a great dinner in the center on Thursday and Friday, eating some French specialties and we also really liked the traditional French food – baguette, croissant and pain au chocolat. The food service during the event was great as well, with some traditional baguette-sandwiches and homemade cheese! Everyone really appreciated the nice atmosphere and the good food.
We definitely plan to come to Lyon again next year! The eBike trend is now really growing in France and it’s the right time to appear and make a statement on the French eBike scene.
