WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION REGARDING THE DESIGN AND THE COLORS?
I wanted to go for a sporty sports car look. The frame being so low and sleek, gave me the idea of creating something similar to a Ferrari or Lamborghini. So I asked myself … what stands out more than Red?
TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR BIKE?
From the Crank set to the pedals, handlebars, headset grips, wheel size, spokes you name it is custom. I worked with a lot of people involved in the stretch cruiser society and who have created some of the most beautiful bikes anyone has seen. So just sharing with each of these individuals my idea, they made sure that I had everything I needed.
The wheels are two tone powder coated. I went with the high gloss black and with the flame red trim. It really gave the stance of the bike that wide wheel Lamborghini look. I also attached my mega boom speaker to the bike. I mean, who doesn’t want to bump some music while cruising? Everything matches, everything is sharp sleek and it just stands out.
HOW LONG TOOK THE PROCESS OF CREATING THIS BIKE?
Well, me wanting to make sure that the build was exactly what I wanted I made sure not to rush, take my time and definitely not settle! So from frame to fame! LOL…
It took me about 7 1/2 months to finally get it built. Once you get the frame you get all types of ideas. I must of had 7 to 12 different build schemes I wanted.Really getting involved in the custom cruiser scene and doing your research on custom parts and builders, shops and websites is where you get your inspiration and ideas from. So getting to look at all the different SMYINZ builds gives you the layout needed to create yourself exactly what you want.
WHAT HURDLES DID YOU HAVE TO OVERCOME DURING CONSTRUCTION, OR WHERE THERE ANY?
Putting a huffy together is a lot different than putting a custom cruiser together. So just mastering that learning curve making sure I asked for help and direction to make sure that the build was put together correctly is a task in itself. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t put it all together all alone. A few bike friends and shops assisted me with little parts that I couldn’t do myself.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU RIDE YOUR BIKE?
Any chance I get really. My schedule is just like anyone else! I get up in the morning Monday through Friday 9 to 5. So come the weekend I’ll take advantage of a ride. If I get off work in time and the sun is still out, I may go for a little evening stroll. But as soon as summer comes, you can always catch me beachside boozing & Cruizin and looking bad ass while doing it!
NOW A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
